"We first met Ms Mekala, an Education cum Behaviour Management Therapist at Kits4Kids Special School where my son Trusten had his weekly early intervention session. Trusten was diagnosed to have Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 3.5 years old and was since attending weekly early intervention programme at Kits4Kids. At the age of 6 years old, neither of us expected to encounter a teacher who would deeply impact Trusten’s life. Ms Mekala, or Teacher Mekala as Trusten affectionally addressed her, was a balm of relief for us.

Ms Mekala was a patient teacher which was reflected very often during her sessions with Trusten, whose inappropriate and aggressive behaviour had tested numerous teachers. While observing the sessions, I was extremely impressed by the patience and professionalism she displayed while handling my son’s meltdowns. What truly shone about Ms Mekala was the sincerity she showed towards Trusten whenever she interacted with him.

She also had an eye for details as she customised her facilitation plans according to Trusten’s needs instead of relying on a fixed facilitation template that catered to the general audience. As it was discovered that Trusten had difficulty focusing, Ms Mekala had crafted a facilitation plan that mainly revolved around activities that helped Trusten to focus. This plan involved puzzles and word games which required Trusten to focus his attention on completing the puzzles and spell the words correctly. In the later years whereby Trusten faced more challenges in literacy and English language, Ms Mekala helped him to focus and work on his weaknesses, at the same time still working on his behavioural issues.

It had been a fun and fruitful 7-years of learning journey under Ms Mekala’s guidance. Though it has been more than 5 years since Trusten stopped his learning programme with Ms Mekala, it can be observed that he still remembers Teacher Mekala and his sessions with her fondly. I am able to confidently say that without Ms Mekala’s guidance, my son would not be able to progress as much as he did. To this, we sincerely appreciate her guidance and hope that she continues to make a positive impact to others with special needs."

"Ms Mekala has been a senior leader at my son's preschool. She is efficient, friendly and courteous in all her interactions and provides a warm, caring environment for my son and his classmates. The activities and learning provocations are always thoughtful, creative and inspiring for very young children and very well attuned to their needs and interests.

Ms Mekala is a committed educator of young children who works well with children as individuals, as well as with children in groups. She is sensitive in working with each child as an individual and was kind and encouraging to my son during periods when he was adjusting to preschool. I am grateful for her care and professionalism.

Wishing you the very best with these endeavours!

All good wishes!"

"We know Ms Mekala from our daughter's school. Ms Mekala is someone who is always cheerful and is a person with a positive aura.

She is the principal at our daughter's school and our daughter is very fond of her. She is gentle and calm with the kids. I've witnessed Ms Mekala encouraging our daughter and the other kids in being independent and finding solutions.  As kids learn the most by trial and error, it is a perfect approach from a member at the school.

Also from a parent's perspective, she is approachable and readily has great advice to give regarding parenting too."

"Unlike the big brands, The Right Angle Academy is a small, homely and simple setup run by Miss Mekala.

My son attends play therapy at her academy and he looks forward to her sessions. We have done 5 sessions with her and I'm seeing obvious improvements in his behavior and patience.

After each session, she takes time to review what went on in the session and provide tips for us to bring home so we can reinforce what he has learnt.

She has the academic qualifications to back her work but most importantly for us, she is someone we feel we can trust. Feedbacks are taken seriously and attended to promptly. She does not avoid saying the hard truths but she will do so in a respectful and gentle manner. She is a gem and I'm thankful we met her."

"Ms. Mekala is one of the kindest souls our sons came about during their pre-school years. Her patient and caring personality nurtured our children with love and discipline, helping to develop their social and emotional skiils.

Moreover, Ms. Mekala's experience and strong values combined with her artistic skills gave us peace of mind that our kids would be always learning lessons for life. Our sons loved spending time with her and built great memories."

"My son joined the nursery for a half year, but the amount of things he learnt there exceeded any expectations! There was a huge variety of activities developing a child in all possible ways! They were singing songs, which helped my sons' speech to be faster, did a lot of art activities which developed creativity and made him learn colours, shapes, letters etc in a fun and not pressuring way. The amount of activities they did is just uncountable and my son was always interested in doing every of it.

The contribution of teacher Mekala to every child's development was massive and my son and other kids not only learnt a lot, but also did it in a short amount of time. The child development structure was great for education and also affected their daily routines. Was great to see such things as my son putting shoes on it's place when entering home or putting a chair back after leaving the table.

I will always be thankful for teacher Mekala for putting so much effort in to every child in Sunbird Enrichment and developing them in fun, caring and loving environment!"
